I saw a Ford Motor Company ad on television. It said, “We speak MPGs” and “We speak RPMs.” What are MPGs? Miles Per Gallons? And what are RPMs? Revolutions Per Minutes? Dumb! The other Ford TV ads are also lame. Ford might switch ad agencies.
Speaking of dumb, on the Today Show, Ann Curry said that 90% of automobile accidents are caused by drivers. Really? Not 89 percent; not 91 percent; drivers cause exactly 90 percent of car crashes. What percent of crashes are caused by trees, snow, ice, dogs, bicyclists, and Firestone tires under Ford Explorers? Inquiring minds want to know!
One of the Today Show’s tips for dealing with automobile accidents is to wait until our vehicles stop before exiting. Really? I had thought that we should try to egress while our vehicles are crashing. I feel dumb.
Speaking of vehicles, my $4000 car was passed by a $440,000 silver Porsche Carrera GT on the Hathaway Bridge over the bay. »→
