prayer for today
Lord, hear our prayers for women and men, boys and girls who are homeless, for those sleeping under bridges, on benches, in alleys, in bus stations and under trees.
Lord, inspire us to help our brethren who suffer nights of fitful sleep in places unsecure, who wander in the day, looking for work and hoping for housing.
Lord, help us to mend families that are split because rent could not be paid on time and relatives could not take in everyone.
Lord, we pray for our brethren who have no home to call theirs, no safe place to sleep nor enough warmth and light.
Lord, for those who are unduly stressed each day by insecurity and anxiety about food and shelter, we pray.
Lord, help us to see ourselves in the less-fortunate brethren in our communities.
Lord, help us to keep you in mind (Mt 25) when we encounter people suffering.
Lord, help us to help our sisters and brothers with clothing, meals, shelter, and struggle for justice and peace. In Jesus’ name we pray.
